We gladly embraced the challenge of designing a linen carpet inspired by the rich folklore of the Baltic region. This area boasts ornamental treasures, distinctive attire, and exquisite craftsmanship. Our objective was clear: to create a contemporary furnishing piece that seamlessly melds traditional Lithuanian art with modern aesthetics.
The collaboration between Italian designers and Lithuanian artisans, skilled in crafting handmade linen carpets, gave birth to “Lietuva.” Drawing inspiration from the traditional woven stripes originally found in costumes and ceremonial attire, we wove these patterns into a fresh design. The vibrant hues and intricate yet precise motifs showcase the pinnacle of craftsmanship.
Within this carpet, a symphony of colors unfolds, each tone uniting to form a refined and understated detail. These stripes bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, ornamentation and minimalism. “Lietuva” serves as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of heritage and contemporary design.
